Pink Lemonade has some of the best album art out there. Yeah, I know, I can’t shut up about it, sorry. The aesthetic is everything a nerd could hope for, though. [source]

I can now empathize with victims of trackwork after tonight. What was supposed to be a half hour trip to Parramatta ended up taking nearly 2 hours - hello, traffic! Was pretty cranky for several reasons this evening BUT this show was so worth it, so good, totally turned my mood around.

In fact, I might even go as far as saying it was the most fun show I’d attended in a long time. The real review for this will also be in a future issue of PULP! Always keep your eyes peeled ;)

But first, free pink lemonade cocktails!

SCATTERFLY - Sorry did not dig. The sound was ok but they just seemed so apathetic about playing onstage and lacked energy, except the vocalist.

image

FAR AWAY STABLES - Yessss these guys got their act together, sounding a lot tighter than the set opening for The Almost. Was able to appreciate the new material a lot more this time! :)

image

ATLANTIS AWAITS - very energetic and enthusiastic young band! A bit like Tonight Alive meets a happier Eyes Set To Kill. Their set was when the night really got started, enjoyed this a lot!

image

CLOSURE IN MOSCOW - can you say hella rad? They commenced right at midnight and had the dancefloor filled. Deserving of a rare 5/5 rating! There were many humorous moments, but the one I recall best was when this girl came up onstage and was holding up a knit sweater (probably for the owner to claim it) and stayed there for ages before Chris shrieked (sing-shrieked) at her to “get off the stage”. Was not sure whether this was supposed to be funny but it stuck, so that’s the story.

Also, it’s worth noting that they didn’t play anything off The Penance and the Patience EP on this tour :( unless they haven’t been doing that for a while and I just don’t know because it’s been 2 years since I was last able to catch them!

Lovely post-show chats! Luckily managed to snag a setlist, since they change it up every night on the spot. YES I KNOW I NEED(ed) A HAIRCUT and my accent is still unidentifiable. Mobile flash sucks (hello RED EYE) so B&W it is!

Such good vibes all throughout!

BUT it didn’t end there…

Something amazing that happened on the night bus home! I didn’t have enough coins for my bus fare as they didn’t take bus cards and I only had large bills, a very nice stranger offered to pay it for me, and this person turned out to be an A7X fan!

(I didn’t write much about the songs and the bands themselves but you can wait for the published review to check that out! :3)
